Privacy Policy — Wildoku

Last updated: 22 August 2026

1. Who we are

Wildoku ("the app", "the game") is published by:

Hindsight Consulting (Pty) Ltd Registration number 2017/361666/07 Unit 41 Thembi Office Park, 15 Calderwood Road Johannesburg, 2191 South Africa

Website: https://www.hindsight.africa/ Contact for privacy matters: privacy@hindsight.africa

For the purposes of the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 ("POPIA"), Hindsight Consulting (Pty) Ltd is the responsible party. Where the General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR") applies, we are the data controller.

2. What this policy covers

This policy applies to the Wildoku mobile application (package za.co.hindsight.wildoku) distributed through Google Play. It does not cover any other product, nor any third-party website the app may link to.

3. The short version

Wildoku does not require an account, and does not send your game data anywhere. Your progress lives on your own device and stays there. The app contains no advertising, no analytics and no in-app purchases, and we collect nothing about you.

4. Information stored on your device

Wildoku stores the following locally on your device only. It is not transmitted to us and we cannot see it:

This information is held in your device's standard application storage. Uninstalling Wildoku deletes all of it permanently. We hold no copy and cannot restore it.

5. Information we collect about you

We collect none. Wildoku has no account system, no sign-in, no analytics, and no server of our own. We do not know who you are, we do not know that you play, and we receive no reports about your device or your gameplay.

6. Notifications

Wildoku can send you one kind of notification: a daily reminder that your three free hints have refilled. Nothing else. No streak warnings, no "we miss you", no promotions.

7. Children

Wildoku is not directed at children. The game requires sustained logical deduction and is intended for older players.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from:

The thresholds differ because the laws do. POPIA in South Africa treats anyone under 18 as a child; GDPR Article 8 sets the age of digital consent between 13 and 16 depending on the member state, and defaults to 16; COPPA in the United States applies below 13. We apply whichever is higher for your location.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided personal information through our app, contact us at privacy@hindsight.africa with the subject line "Privacy Rights Request". We may need to verify your relationship to the child before acting, and will then delete the information we hold.

Where GDPR applies, we rely on:

PurposeBasis
Storing your progress on your deviceNecessary to perform the service you requested

Under POPIA we process personal information in terms of section 11, on the basis that the processing is necessary to provide the game you have chosen to play.

9. Sharing and cross-border transfer

We do not sell, share or transfer your personal information to anyone. The app contains no advertising, analytics or third-party service that receives information about you or your device, and we operate no server, so no cross-border transfer under section 72 of POPIA or Chapter V of the GDPR takes place.

A current list of any providers that may ever receive data through Wildoku is maintained separately, so that it stays accurate if that ever changes:

https://wildoku.hindsight.africa/partners

That page forms part of this policy. As at the date above, it records the honest answer: no one.

10. Retention

On-device data is kept until you delete it or uninstall the app. We hold no copy, so there is nothing else for anyone to retain.

11. Your rights

Under POPIA, and under GDPR where it applies, you have the right to:

Because Wildoku stores your game data only on your device, you can exercise deletion directly and immediately: uninstall the app, or clear its data in Android Settings.

For anything else, contact us at privacy@hindsight.africa. We will respond within the period required by law.

You may also complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa): JD House, 27 Stiemens Street, Braamfontein, Johannesburg, 2001 — https://inforegulator.org.za/ — or, in the EEA/UK, to your local data protection authority.

12. Security

Your game data never leaves your device, which removes the risk of interception in transit or breach of a central database — we operate no such database. Data on your device is protected by your device's own operating system security and by any screen lock you set.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes — in particular if advertising or purchases are ever introduced, or when optional new content (such as themed in-game events) changes how the app works. If any future feature transmits or collects information this policy does not describe, the policy will be updated before that feature ships. The "last updated" date at the top will change, and material changes will be notified within the app. Continuing to use Wildoku after a change means you accept the updated policy.
